Drew Barrymore and Adam Sandler gave their film 50 First Dates a mini-sequel on the premiere of her new daytime show, according to UPI. In the 2004 film, Barrymore's character had anterograde amnesia and Sandler's character makes her a new video every day telling her about their life together. On Monday, the two were in character and Sandler told a surprised Barrymore that Donald Trump was the president and that there was a pandemic happening. "Baseball games are now being played in front of cardboard people," Sandler jokes in the clip. "I couldn't honestly be more excited for you. You have your own show now," he tells her. As for Barrymore's new show, she is actually surprised that she's starting it during a pandemic, reports The Washington Post. “I had a very different vision and perception of what we wanted to accomplish with this, and it certainly did not take place from my home,” Barrymore said. The Drew Barrymore Show will have a small crew observing COVID-19 precautions and a virtual crowd will appear on a large display behind Barrymore. In addition to Adam Sandler, her first show featured Charlie's Angels co-stars and friends Cameron Diaz and Lucy Liu. The show airs on 9 a.m. on CBS in New York City, but at different times and stations throughout the country.
