Bulldogs celebrate Senior Day, pick up three more wins

CLOVIS, Calif. - The Fresno State track & field teams secured three more wins at the Fresno State Invitational on Saturday at Veterans Memorial Stadium, wrapping up the two-day home-hosted event for the Bulldogs.

Fresno State earned wins in the women's 400m hurdles and high jump. The 'Dogs also had a winner in the men's long jump.

The Bulldogs honored seniors Jewel Ash, Gianna Chiaramonte, Miana Giovannini, Shaylee Grimm, Tearra Haney, Emma Harper, Morgan Hutchison, Madison Hutton, Cierra Jackson, Maria Lawson, Victoria Nino, Ashley Ochoa, Crystal Raya, Jennifer Recinos, Anne Remlinger, Antoinette Stubbfield, Colleen Uzoekwe, Isaiah Calvin, Dane Koesterer and Garrett Ostrinski in a senior ceremony before the meet.

On Senior Day, senior Jewel Ash won the 400m hurdles with a time of 59.81. Sophomore Liz Tarczy remains undefeated in the high jump this spring with a winning jump of 1.78m/5-10 on Saturday.

The Bulldogs saw a handful of personal bests in both the field and track events on Saturday.

In the women's 1,500 Khushleen Khakh and Kylie Ward took eighth and ninth, respectively. Ward ran a personal best 4:43.69. Senior Gianna Chiaramonte ran below five minutes for the first time in her career with a 4:48.83 time. On the men's side, freshman Noah Graffigna saw a personal best 4:00.77 and seventh place finish.

Ella Spaulding saw a fifth place finish and personal best with a 14.14 mark in the 100m hurdles.

In the 400m dash, Miana Giovannini finished sixth with a personal best mark of 54.82. For the men, another Bulldog saw a personal best as Joziah Hagedorn took third with a time of 48.32. It was the fastest time for a Bulldog in the event this season. Hagedorn also saw a personal best in the 200 meters with a time of 21.80.

Fresno State went 2-3 in the discus with Emma Harper at second with a 50.16m/164-6 toss and Tearra Haney at third with a personal best throw of 49.36m/161-11.

In the men's 800 sophomore Elijah Williams shaved his personal best with a fourth place finish and 1:52.17 mark. Williams was a part of the 4x400 that took third alongside Jazper Malone, Corey Ford and Dane Koesterer.

Jabari King won the men's long jump with a 7.30m/23-11 mark, his longest jump this year. King won the long jump for the fourth time this season.

Closing out the day in the triple jump, Josh Dunu hit for a personal best mark of 14.36m/47-1.5 on his fifth attempt. Dunu took second in the event.
