RENO, Nev. – The Fresno State baseball team dropped the series opener against the Wolf Pack in Nevada 7-5 on Friday night.
With the loss, Fresno State sits at 23-22 overall and 15-7 in conference play.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Wolf Pack put a string of hits together to take an early 3-0 lead after the first inning.
Nevada extended its lead in the third inning, scoring two runs on three hits and a Bulldog error. It became a 6-0 game in the following inning when the Wolf Pack drove in a run with an RBI groundout.
Cayden Munster led off the fifth inning with a double down the left line, and Cam Schneidr followed suit with a single down the right line. Eddie Saldivar was hit by a pitch and quickly loaded the bases. Murf Gray turned the game on its head by crushing his second grand slam of the season over the wall in left center.
The Wolf Pack tacked on an insurance run in the eighth inning with an RBI single.
Munster quickly erased that insurance run by leading off the ninth inning with a solo home run to left field. The Bulldogs were not able to rally back and fell 7-5 to the Wolf Pack.
NOTES
Murf Gray hit his second grand slam of 2025.
Cayden Munster hit his sixth home run of the season.
This is the third game this season with three Bulldog errors.
