STOCKTON, Calif. – The Fresno State baseball team completed its fourth shutout of the season with a 7-0 win against Pacific in a midweek game in Stockton.
With the win, the Bulldogs advance to 23-21 on the season, and remail 15-6 in conference play.
HOW IT HAPPENED
After a quick first inning, the Bulldogs took an early lead in the second inning. Bobby Blandford doubled down the left field line, and advanced on a wild pitch. Cam Schneider doubled to score Blandford, and Jett Ruby earned his third career RBI with a single up the middle to drive in Fresno State's second run.
Blandford scored his second run of the game on a wild pitch in the fourth inning, after getting on base by getting hit by a pitch.
Lee Trevino led off the fifth inning with a single to center field. Triston Gray doubled to send Trevino home and make it a 4-0 game.
Fresno State scored in its third straight inning in the sixth. Cayden Munster singled to lead off the inning. A sacrifice bunt from Sky Collins sent him to second, and a groundout from Jett Ruby sent him to third. Trevino singled to centerfield allowing the first baseman to score.
The Bulldogs added another pair of runs in the seventh inning, led by Justin Stransky who singled to left field. Blandford walked, and both runners advanced. Cam Schneider and Cayden Munster hit consecutive sacrifice flies that allowed Stransky and Blandford to score.
NOTES
Every Diamond 'Dog in the starting lineup reached base at least once against the Tigers.
The Fresno State pitching staff held the Bulldogs to only three hits, the least amount of hits allowed in a game this season.
Cooper Bergman earned his first win of 2025.
