FRESNO, Calif. - Fresno State head women's basketball coach Jaime White has stepped down from her position effective immediately, Director of Athletics Garrett Klassy announced on Monday. White concludes her tenure in Fresno with an overall record of 196-156. White had a 112-88 record in Mountain West play, which included a regular season championship title in 2020.
"On behalf of Fresno State and our community, I want to thank Jaime for her tireless service to our student-athletes, our Department of Athletics and our institution," said Klassy. "Jaime led our program with character and compassion and so many of her student-athletes have earned their degrees and gone on to impact their communities. We wish Jaime all of the best. We are committed to women's basketball at Fresno State and with a passionate fanbase, generous supporters and a proud athletics tradition, I am confident that we will have strong candidates to consider."
White, who was the Mountain West Coach of the Year in 2020, coached the Bulldogs to three 20-win seasons and five postseason appearances in her tenure. She coached three Mountain West Players of the Year, and one two-time conference Defensive Player of the Year over the course of her career. With 196 career wins as a Bulldog, White has the second-most wins by a head coach and was the second-longest tenured head coach in program history.
"It has truly been a privilege and honor to be a part of the Fresno State family for more than a decade," White said. "I am so grateful to the outstanding young women who have worn our uniform, to the incredible assistant coaches and support staff, and to the Fresno State fans and community who continue to support our athletic teams. The future is bright for Fresno State Athletics and for the women's basketball program and I will be cheering on the Bulldogs in the years ahead."
A national search for the next women's basketball head coach at Fresno State will begin immediately.
