'Dogs suffer setback at Nevada

RENO, Nev. – Fresno State dropped its eighth straight road game season, falling 94-69 to Nevada at Lawlor Events Center. The Wolf Pack shot a blistering 61.3% from the field and forced 18 turnovers.

The Bulldogs were led by Jasir Tremble who had 19 points off the bench as the junior went 5-of-8 from 3. Nevada put four in double figures, paced by Nick Davidson's 25 points on 10-of-12 shooting.

How It Happened

After trading early 3-pointers to make it 5-all, Nevada scored the next five and held Fresno State scoreless for the next four minutes.

With 12:05 on the clock, Jalen Weaver blew past his defender and for a layup to end a four-minute drought. That was followed by Elijah Price pulling down an offensive rebound and going up through contact for an and-1 to bring the Bulldogs level at 10-10.

But Nevada answered with a 10-0 spurt that forced a timeout out the Bulldogs with 8:55 on the clock. A turnover out of the stoppage led to Tre Coleman connecting on the Wolf Pack's fifth 3-pointer.

With under seven minutes remaining and the 'Dogs trailing by seven, Weaver dropped in a 3-pointer and followed with a dunk in transition on a steal by Zaon Collins.

With 2:19 to go, Brian Amuneke made his second 3-pointer of the half to bring the 'Dogs within six at 36-30, the closest they had been in seven minutes.

A pair offensive rebounds and put backs by Justin McBride in the final minute gave Nevada a 41-31 lead at the half. Aiding to the Wolf Pack's lead were 14 Bulldog turnovers along with the Pack shooting 60.7% from the field.

Nick Davidson scored eight points in the first two minutes of the second half, giving Nevada a 15-point advantage. The Bulldogs pulled the deficit back to 12 but it quickly jumped to 18 with an 8-2 stretch in 60 seconds. Fresno State burned its second timeout of the game with 15:12 on the clock.

The break didn't stop the Wolf Pack as they produced a block turned into a 3-pointer by Tyler Rolison at the other end. Another stop and Kobe Sanders scored an and-1 to put Nevada up 63-39 with 13:54 to play. A free throw from Alex Crawford ended the Wolf Pack's run at 11-0.

A triple from Amuneke followed by a dunk from Price forced Nevada to call a timeout with 11:50 to play.

Fresno State was outscored 31-24 the remainder of the game.

Notes

Fresno State lost its seventh straight game.

Fresno State allowed 14 3-pointers. The Bulldogs have allowed double-digit made 3's in seven of the last nine games.

Fresno State allowed 90+ points for the seventh time this season.

Fresno State allowed its second straight opponent to shoot over 60% from the field.

With 19 points, Jasir Tremble matched his career high. It was his first double-figure game since Jan. 4.

The junior's five made 3-pointers matched his career high.

Brian Amuneke reached double figures for the fifth time in seven games, scoring 14 points.

The freshman made a career-high four 3-pointers on 4-of-5 shooting from deep.

Jalen Weaver scored in double figures for the 14th time in his last 16 games. The senior had 12 points.
