Josiah Duggar's Wife Lauren Reveals She Suffered A Miscarriage

In a new preview for TLC's Counting On, Josiah Duggar and his wife Lauren Swanson revealed they suffered a miscarriage shortly after tying the knot last year.

“Lauren and I were actually preparing for a trip to go to a friend’s wedding,” Josiah says in the preview. “She started feeling really sick and started noticing some different things. Mrs. Swanson was there, so she was able to help her out. I didn’t know exactly what was going on.”

“I wasn’t feeling well,” Lauren adds through tears. “I was cramping really, really bad, which was quite strange because I normally don’t. I was thinking maybe I had something that had gluten in it. It was late at night and I went to use the restroom and there was the baby. Gone. I couldn’t believe it and I was hoping it wasn’t true.”

“It really was a hard time for our family just going through this right after we got married,” Josiah says in another preview for Counting On. “All the dreams of getting to see our little one and getting to hold it in our hands just dashed right before our eyes.”

Josiah and Lauren decided to open up about their unfortunate experience to let others who are going through the same thing know they are not alone. "A lot of people go through miscarriage, but nobody really talks about it," Lauren says. "We just wanted to let y'all know that you're not alone."

Counting On returns to TLC Monday (Feb. 11) at 9 p.m. ET. Will you be tuning in?
