Prince Philip's funeral service was held over the weekend and the service was different than normal due to social distancing protocols in place for the pandemic. It was heartbreaking watching the Queen having to sit by herself as she said goodbye to her husband wiping away her tears, but now we found out she wrote a hand-written note to Prince Philip. The note was nestled alongside a wreath chosen by the Queen filled with lilies, roses, freesia and sweet peas, placed on top of Prince Philip's coffin.
The note had 'In loving memory' edged in black and the Queen reportedly signed it off as 'Lilibet.' Lilibet is a nickname the Queen was given as a child and is used by her closest family members. The Queen also signed 'Lilibet' on the flowers at her mother's funeral in 2002. Prince Philip's coffin was covered in his personal standard and carried his sword, naval cap and a wreath of flowers. His coffin was lowered into the Royal Vault after an eight minute procession and 50-minute service. Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip were married for 73 years.
