James Corden Pranks David Beckham With Faux Statue Unveiling, Destruction

On Monday'sLate Late Show, an unwitting David Beckham thought he was attending his own Los Angeles Galaxy statue unveiling, when in reality he was being victimized by prankster James Corden. Corden commissioned the sculpting of a statute that looked nothing like the former soccer star (its enormous chin and behind being the main differences), who politely applauded while betraying a look of disappointment at a private unveiling that featured a highlight reel of his penalties and missed goals, as well as a slew of actors posing as annoying fans. Beckham proceeded to calmly offer his critiques of the statue to the "sculptor" after the faux event, and after a forklift operator "accidentally" destroyed Beckham's statue ("You've probably done me a favor," Beckham deadpanned), Corden rushed out to reveal the elaborate prank.
