The Hanford West graduate auditioned for the 15th season of “So You Think You Can Dance” earlier this year in Los Angeles. The audition will air on the second episode of the season Monday night.
“I was nervous the night before, but once I got there, I wasn’t very nervous because it was a lot of fun to [watch the other dancers],” Dalke said.
The contemporary dancer performed a piece called “This is the End of Everything,” which she had performed previously as her senior solo.
“What better time to do it once more,” she said.
Though Dalke wasn’t allowed to spill the beans on whether the judges thought she earned a ticket to the second round of competition, she did say that at least two of the judges were enthusiastic about her performance.
“Nigel [Lythgoe] and Mary [Murphy] gave me a standing ovation, which was cool,” she said. “It felt really good. After all the hard work I did for all those years in dance, it was nice to have that reassurance that you did something right in your life,” she said.
Actress Vanessa Hudgens and SYTYCD fan favorite Twitch also judged the auditions.
She made it through to the Academy and we'll watch to see what happens with Tessa and her journey on SYTYCD!
