Paramount Network has officially ordered a reboot of the First Wives Club to series. Entertainment Tonight reports that the comedy series will debut with 10 half-hour episodes in 2019. Tracy Oliver, co-screenwriter of Girls Trip, will write and serve as executive producer on the updated series. "You can tell this story at any point and it's really relatable,” Oliver says in an interview about the new project. “We're in a time where women are speaking up and it wouldn't feel right if we didn't, with the First Wives Club, actually address some of these issues." The original 1996 film starred Diane Keaton, Bette Midler and Goldie Hawn as three friends who band together after their marriages fall apart. Production on the reboot will begin this summer in New York City.
