The Simpsons will extend its reign as the longest-running scripted TV show, as Fox has renewed the beloved show for two more seasons. The Wrap reports that the renewal, for seasons 31 and 32, ensures the enduring animated sitcom will have aired a whopping 713 episodes by the end of the latter season. Changes are in the air, however, as Disney will soon own 20th Century Fox, the studio that owns The Simpsons and Family Guy . The show also has come under fire in recent years for its stereotype-reliant portrayal of the character Apu, an Indian convenience store owner. Here's more from The Wrap .
