Black Panther made history at the Screen Actors Guild Awards on Sunday, where it beat out A Star Is Born, BlacKkKlansman, Bohemian Rhapsody, and Crazy Rich Asians for outstanding performance by a cast in a motion picture. The film is the superhero film to be nominated for and win the honor. “We knew we could create a world that exemplified a world that we knew we wanted to see,” star Chadwick Boseman said while accepting the honor with his co-stars. “We knew we had something that we wanted to give.” The superhero film also won outstanding stunt ensemble. The night also saw Glenn Close beating out Lady Gaga for Best Actress, Mahershala Ali winning for male actor in a supporting role for Green Book and Rami Malek being recognized for his leading role in Bohemian Rhapsody. On the TV side, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel took home three awards, including Outstanding Ensemble in a Comedy Series. Here's more from People.
