Here Are Highlights From “A Very Wicked Halloween”

NBC helped celebrate the 15-year anniversary of the Broadway musical Wicked with a musical special aptly titled A Very Wicked Halloween. According to Entertainment Weekly, these were the best moments from the event:

  1. Adam Lambert & Ledisi Perform “As Long As You’re Mine.” The duo harmonized brilliantly on Elphaba and Fiyero’s duet. Lambert also showcased his vocal prowess by taking the song to a higher vocal range on the lyrics “it’s up that I fell.”
  2. Idina Menzel and Kristin Chenoweth reprise their iconic roles. Original Elphaba Menzel offered a more stripped-down pop version of the musical’s hit “Defying Gravity.” Meanwhile, original Glinda Chenoweth took the stage and belted out her most iconic song from the musical: “Popular.”
  3. Pentatonix put a unique spin on “What Is This Feeling?” The Grammy-winning a cappella group transformed the famous duet between Elphaba and Glinda into a full ensemble number,
  4. Ariana Grande delivers powerful cover of “The Wizard and I.” A green-clad Grande nailed the song’s classic Broadway phrasing and added some of her own pop riffs.
  5. A witch-y reunion. A host of former Glindas and Elphabas--including Shoshana Bean, Eden Espinosa and Laura Bell Bundy--joined Menzel and Chenoweth onstage to perform “For Good.”
