Cher has officially announced her forthcoming album of ABBA covers inspired by her recent appearance in Mamma Mia 2: Here We Go Again. The 10-track Dancing Queen, due out September 28, includes Cher's renditions of such ABBA classics as "Waterloo," "The Winner Takes It All," "Fernando," "SOS," the compilation's title track, and of course, "Mamma Mia." Cher revealed last month that she'd recorded the project, telling TODAY, "It's not what you think of when you think ABBA, 'cause I did it in a different way." Case in point: On Thursday, she "Cher'd" her cover of "Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! (A Man After Midnight)" on YouTube, which Consequence of Sound calls "a heavily electronic update for modern discotheques."
