Keri Russell may be headed to a galaxy far, far away. Variety reports that The Americans alum is in early talks to join J.J. Abrams’ Star Wars: Episode IX. Abrams and Lucasfilm execs reportedly met with several actresses for the role in the past two months and agreed on Russell right before the Fourth of July. The role reportedly calls for action-heavy fight scenes. Russell and Abrams last collaborated on 2006’s Mission: Impossible III; Abrams also co-created the WB series Felicity, which starred Russell in the title role. Star Wars: Episode IX is aiming for a holiday 2019 premiere.
