Hootie & The Blowfish Announce 1st Album Since 2005, "Imperfect Circle"

Hootie and the Blowfish announced Thursday that they'll drop their first album in 15 years on November 1. In a YouTube video, Darius Rucker revealed that Imperfect Circle is named in honor of the REM song "Perfect Circle" off that band's 1983 debut studio album, Murmur. "'Perfect Circle' is an REM song that we all love a lot," Rucker explains. "We thought that was a great name. But then we thought Imperfect Circle was a better name." Taste of Country notes that fans who preorder Imperfect Circle can also hear the band's new track "Rollin'" on their website. Hootie and company's last album, Looking for Lucky, dropped in 2005. The band had said back in December on TODAY that they were planning to release their next album in 2019. They're also in the midst of a massive comeback tour.
