The usual eclectic group of headliners will play the 50th-anniversary edition of the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival--aka Jazz Fest--to be spread across eight dates at the end of April and beginning of May. Among the performers slated to play thus far are The Rolling Stones, Katy Perry, The Dave Matthews Band, Al Green, Pitbull, Santana, Jerry Lee Lewis, and Aaron Neville. Producer Quint Davis says this year's festival will include some 20 tributes honoring artists--Louis Armstrong and Fats Domino among them--who helped shape the Crescent City's musical landscape. A special pre-sale to The Rolling Stones' date (May 2) will kick off Thursday for Louisiana residents only, while tickets to the general public will go on sale Friday. Here's more from AP.
