On Monday in Wellington, New Zealand, a buffoonish daredevil decided to swing from a popular waterfront sculpture called The Water Whirler. Somewhat predictably, he snapped it, landing himself in the hospital and causing $200,000 worth of damage. "We might be having chats to the individual involved just to see how we end up paying for this," Wellington Mayor Justin Lester told Radio NZ. "I'm glad the individual is being looked after in hospital, but we would prefer it if people didn't climb on it."
