Mel Gibson Is Set To Write & Direct A Remake Of "The Wild Bunch"

Mel Gibson has been tapped to write and direct a remake of Sam Peckinpah's classic 1969 Western The Wild Bunch. Variety says it's unknown whether Gibson's version will be "a straight remake or a different story," but the original Wild Bunch "follows an aging group of outlaws look for one last big score even as what they viewed as the wild west is slowly passing them by." The original Wild Bunch also featured an all-star cast that included Ernest Borgnine and William Holden. A release date and casting info for Gibson's Wild Bunch have yet to be announced.
