BULLDOG BONES

Fresno State clinched the West Division title with a 41-14 win at Nevada last weekend. With its West Division title now secure, Fresno State has officially won the most West Division titles among all schools in the division. The Bulldogs have won their division in 2013, 2014, 2017, 2018 and now in 2022.

Fresno State will face Boise State in the 2022 Mountain West Championship Game at Boise State. This matchup is not one that is new to the Mountain West as the teams have faced off in three previous championship game matchups (2014, 2017 & 2018).

Fresno State has won six-straight games, after starting the season 1-4. The turnaround marks the best turnaround to a season in program history.

Each of the four teams that Fresno State has lost to this season are now bowl eligible. Two teams (USC and Oregon State) are ranked in the Top 25.

With 156 yards rushing at Nevada, senior running back Jordan Mims became the first Bulldog since Marteze Waller in 2014 to have a 1,000 yard rushing season at Fresno State. Mims has 1,028 on the year, and is averaging 93.5 rushing yards per game this season.

Fresno State senior quarterback Jake Haener has been named the Mountain West Offensive Player of the Week, the conference office announced on Monday. This honor marks the second time since his return from injury that Haener has been named the MW Offensive Player of the week, and the third time in his career.

In his last four games, Haener has completed 115-of-150 pass attempts, throwing just two interceptions to 12 touchdowns. The senior QB has totaled 1,395 yards in that span, tossing a 300-yard game in each performance since his return. He is passing at a 77 percent clip since Oct. 29.

Wide receiver Jalen Moreno-Cropper is one of 20 players from around the FBS to have active streaks of more than 25 games with a reception. Moreno-Cropper has caught a pass in 34-straight games, a streak that ties Henry Ellard (1979-82) for the second-longest streak in program history.

There is a lot to be said about the career of senior defensive end David Perales. In just his third season as a Bulldog, Perales has surely become one of the best defensive lineman in Fresno State history. The senior Bulldog has totaled 117 tackles, 37.5 tackles for loss, 21.5 sacks, nine forced fumbles and one interceptionin his career (2020-pres.)

Among all active FBS players, Perales is a leader when it comes to career numbers. Perales leads the FBS in forced fumbles per game in a career, averaging 0.30 per game. He is second in the FBS in forced fumbles (9) and sacks per game (0.73). He ranks third among active FBS players in tackles for loss per game (1.22).

Fresno State will honor (at minimum) 13 seniors in its Senior Day celebrations on Friday night. The seniors listed below are seniors who are out of eligibility for college football: Dontae Bull (OL), LJ Early (DB), Elijah Gates (DB), Jake Haener (QB), Zach Hartsfield (TE), Ty Jones (WR), Jordan Mims (RB), Jalen Moreno-Cropper (WR), Raymond Pauwels Jr. (TE), David Perales (DE), Zane Pope (WR), and Nikko Remigio (WR) and Jared Torres (TE).
