Florida Dad Shot Man Who Stole His Car With His Six-Year-Old Son Inside

A Florida father shot an alleged car thief who drove off with his car while his six-year-old son was in the backseat. The young boy was sitting in the back of his father's running car when Lamar Thurman jumped into the driver's seat and sped away. The father and his friends gave chase to the stolen 2012 Honda while calling 911.

After a five-mile chase, Thurman crashed the vehicle and the father and his friends ran over to check on the young boy. As they approached the vehicle, Thurman managed to move the car and continued to drive away. The father pulled out a handgun and opened fire, striking Thurman multiple times and causing him to crash for a second time about 200 yards down the road.

The young boy was unharmed in the crash, and Thurman was rushed to the hospital in critical condition. Police have not said what charges Thurman will face, but he was on probation after being released from jail in February for carjacking an 86-year-old woman in 2016.
