Where To Go For Valentine's Day Dinner? We Got That!

Where to take your sweetie for a romantic Valentine's dinner?  Always a big decision at this time of the year.

Here's some ideas (with thanks to Bethany Clough from "The Bee).

Try Cafe Via on Blackstone.  They've got a Valentine's dinner for 2, for $75.  And they've got a menu that includes seafood crepes, a seared chidken breast stuffed with Feta.  Try the chocolate ganache torte or the cheesecake-stuffed strawberries. Plus...your reservation comes with a red rose. Nice. 447-8706.

This will be a truly special Valentine's at The Ripe Tomato at Fig Garden.  It's their last, on account of they'll be closing forever on the 15th after 37 years.  If you can get a table, you can enjoy New England lobster tail with herb crust and Meyer lemon sauce.  How about the roast duck with Amaretto pear sauce and pistachios or a prime New York steak with black peppercorn sauce? 225-1850.

Erna's Elderberry House in Oakhurst was just rated one of the top 100 most romantic restaurants in America and they're out to prove it all over again with a menu that includes beef rib-eye, thyme-poached Chilean sea bass and a heart-shaped chocolate cake.  $120 per person. 683-6800.

At Capo's by Giuseppe Gallo's on Palm, should you opt for the Valentine's menu, you'll get 2 glasses of the bubbly, an appetizer, soup or salad, dessert and a choice of main dishes: blackened sea bass, filet mignon Oscar or chicken bruschetta.  $105 for two. 492-3437.

But wait.  There's also The Elbow Room, Crab Cakes Restaurant in Oakhurst or Ducey's in Bass Lake.  All are having Valentine's specials.

Just remember...Valentine's is on a Friday, so it's sure to be extra busy this year.  Hey guys.  2 words.  KISS HER! DaveT
