Experts recommend 6 to 8 hours of sleep a night but it appears as though many of us are cheating the clock!

Lots of women, especially, seem to be forcing themselves to sleep less in order to keep up with the demands of the day.  The practice is called "sleep-hacking," with the idea that by improving the quality of your sleep, you can get by on just 3 to 5 hours a night.  But experts say, "No good for you!"

A study conducted a few years back by the U of Warwick found that getting less than 6 hours' sleep a night was linked to a dramatically increased RISK OF DEATH!  Ow!  But some women are still trying to burn the candle at both ends and what's happening is that they're fighting their own body clocks.

Research says that people are getting between one and 2 hours less sleep a night than they did 60 years ago.  And the doctor says, "We are an extremely arrogant species.  We feel we can abandon 4 billion years of evolution and ignore the fact we evolved under a light-dark cycle.  What we do as a species, perhaps uniquely, is over-ride the clock.  But doing that long-term can lead to serious health problems.

Sleep Hacking!  Don't do as I do.  Just don't do it!  DaveT
